Pastor Lily: Who We Are

Our last single is called Pastor Lily and its for a reason.

Many pastors world over are known for their extravagant and opulent li​fe styles, fleet of cars and even private aircrafts. It is good because it is God who has given to them all these things. Yet it is important to know that all God's gifts are given by God not for our own but for the Good of the others.

Jesus was not a rich man. He was poor by all standards, yet he demonstrated that He was rich and the creator of all things as God in flesh. "And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head." Mathew 8.20. Despite of his poverty He gave to the World the greatest Gift we could ever ask, salvation and eternal life. He went everywhere doing good, healing the sick, raising the dead and comforting the broken hearted.

With His Gift, He had compassion and fed thousands and rescued a perishing lot, tossed about by winds and storms.

Jesus used His Gift and whatever he had for others.

Then he talked of the Lilies. He said that "Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these." Mathew 6.27. The Lily is a fascinating flower. It grows in the most difficult places, in a pond, in the midst of scum, grime and slime. It pushes to the surface and when it reaches there, it opens up for the people to admire, for the bee to suck its nectar; for the bugs to build their nests and for the frogs to rest and shelter. Yet in all these, it does not demand anything from all these beneficiaries. It just gives out and lives out for others.

That is what we are all called for. That is the life of a christian. Our gifts, our wealth and our lives are not ours. First they are of God and to show appreciation to the Giver, we must give out to the others without expecting anything back.
